These vintage posters are a limited edition commissioned by Caroline Simpson for the Eryldene Trust Appeal. The artwork is by Paul Jones (1921-1997) renowned botanical artist engaged by Waterhouse to illustrate his two books: 'Camellia Quest' (1947) and 'Camellia Trail' (1952). His major work 'Flora Superba' (1971) was described by the director of Kew Gardens as technically and scientifically exact, aesthetically pleasing, the finest achievement in botanical art.

The posters for sale are still in their original brown paper wrapping from the printer, and are in the best vintage condition.

As a bit of trivia, it's worth noting that Jones, amongst other things, earned his livelihood painting covers for ships menus in the days of the great ocean liners.
