SpeCIAL Project DonationS

We always have special projects on the go at Eryldene. We’re currently in need of funding for the following:

Michael Powell, painstakingly repainting the western loggia balustrade, 2021. Our painting maintenance is endless!

  1. New wheels - Our dedicated garden volunteers need a new wheelbarrow!

  2. Collections Conservation - Several of the paintings which are part of the Eryldene collection are in need of expert conservation.

  3. Roots and Leaves - Our paths need constant repairs to improve safety and accessibility for visitors and volunteers at Eryldene. The mature tree roots underneath the pavers need ongoing management.

Recent Successes

  • Thanks to the generous support of our donors and the garden volunteers Bruce & Robert, we have been able to fix the Potting Shed Roof, which has allowed us to get busy propagating Eryldene camellias and other garden plants.

  • Painting of the Western Loggia has now been completed. Our specialist painter Michael Powell has now moved on to the windows in the Garden Study.

  • Master Carpenter Matt Gatt has repaired the lattice screen and arch. We are now waiting for Covid restrictions to ease before he can reassemble it on site. It’ll be wonderful to see it in-situ once more.

  • Our gardeners are thrilled that the rare Jasminum azoricum has thrown new shoots and we will be able to train it over the arch again. It was a plant specifically selected by the professor and we hope to reinstate a matching plant on the opposite side of the arch in due course.

  • We’ve finally got a new microwave, thanks to our Volunteer Suzanne!

Support During our Covid recovery

After what have arguably been the most difficult years in Eryldene’s history as a Trust, we need donations to keep this special place open and available for our community to enjoy.

Eryldene is a special, secluded place which provides not only a place for our community to gather but also a sanctuary for those who need a natural and harmonious environment during these turbulent times.

Legacies & Bequests

Leaving a bequest to the Eryldene Foundation is a generous way to ensure your lasting legacy to the endurance and upkeep of this beautiful house and garden for the enjoyment of generations to come.  A gift in your will can make sure that all that you enjoy about Eryldene can be shared by others in the future.
